The Girl In The Yellow Polo - Revealed!

Ever since it came out, I’ve been wondering what’s the story behind the cover photo for Vampire Weekend’s Contra. It turns out the girl is some model named Ann Kirsten Kennis and the picture was shot back in 1983.
She’s suing the band, their label and the photographer now.
It’s a cool photo.

This is a clip of my all-time favorite song, ‘Disorder,’ from Control, the Joy Division biopic directed by Anton Corbijn. Every scene from the film looks like a beautiful photograph. It’s a terrific movie.
